Opportunity Industries

The Greater Philadelphia Growth Partnership is concentrating early, coordinated action in three opportunity industries — enterprise digital solutions, precision manufacturing in industrial technologies, and biomedical engineering and production.

Modern Glass Buildings

These industries were selected based on an analysis of their competitive strengths and growth potential in Southeastern Pennsylvania, as well as their ability to generate high-quality, accessible jobs at scale, in particular for workers without four-year degrees. They represent strategic sectors where targeted investments in cluster-building can drive outsized job growth and economic mobility impacts.

These industries - enterprise digital solutions, precision manufacturing in industrial technologies, and biomedical engineering and production - are starting points for shared implementation efforts, with detailed priority tactics identified for each in the regional growth strategy. They are not the sole area of focus for the Partnership, however, which will also work to expand regional growth capacity in core economic development functions and connect talent with employer demand across all sectors of the economy.
